Lindsey Buckingham Announces 2020 Solo Tour
'70s rock stalwart Lindsey Buckingham has announced a 12-date solo tour, beginning in Las Vegas on April 25. It will be the first time the former Fleetwood Mac guitarist and vocalist has performed since suffering a heart attack and undergoing open-heart surgery in February 2019.
Buckingham's triumphant return also includes stops in Boulder, Memphis and Atlanta, before wrapping things up in El Cajon, Calif. on May 13. Tickets go on sale this Friday, Feb. 14; more info is available on his website.
Back in April 2018, ahead of their massive world tour, Fleetwood Mac announced Buckingham's departure from the band, citing scheduling conflicts. Buckingham launched his own 2018 solo tour that fall, to coincide with the release of his three-disc Solo Anthology album.
On Feb. 8, 2019, Buckingham's wife Kirsten shared a thoughtful note to his social media about his heart procedure, writing that he was recovering well after the procedure but had experienced vocal cord damage during it and had to cancel his appearances for the year to rest. She also noted the history of heart disease in his family, encouraging "anyone with even the mildest of symptoms…to seek the care of a physician."
