Lil Wayne earned some of his first career GRAMMY wins at the 51st GRAMMY Awards on the strength of 2008's Tha Carter III. He took home Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song for "Lollipop" and "A Milli" won Best Rap Solo Performance. Even 10 years later, that's a lot to look back on. Accordingly, the GRAMMY-winning rapper will celebrate the album's 10-year anniversary at his fourth annual Lil' Weezyana Fest.

On May 8 Lil Wayne revealed the festival's creative via social media, which paid homage to Tha Carter III's original cover art with a graphic representation of a baby wearing a suit. The festival will take place Aug. 25 at the Champions Square in New Orleans. While the 2018 lineup hasn't been announced yet, past artists have included the likes of Drake, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, and Big Freedia, among others.

As for what's in store for the 10-year celebration portion of Lil' Weezyana Fest, one can only imagine it'll be as big as the album was upon its 2008 release. As Billboard reminded us, Tha Carter III sold more than 1 million copies its first week and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The groundbreaking work featured fellow rappers Jay-Z, T-Pain, Babyface, and Busta Rhymes, and produced three chart-topping singles: "A Milli," "Got Money" and "Mrs. Officer."'

While the world looks forward to more world-class recordings from Lil Wayne, Lil' Weezyana Fest on Aug. 25 looks likely to be an unforgettable experience. You can grab your tickets via Ticketmaster.

One Musicfest 2018 comes to Atlanta from Sept. 8–9, with Cardi B, Miguel and Nas headlining along with Big Sean, Jeezy and T.I. Attendance at last year's OMF was more than 20,000 and the roster is richer now that the event has been extended to two days.

The supergroup August Greene is slated to perform. The trio unites Common, Robert Glasper and Karriem Riggins following the release of their self-titled album in March after forming during this year's GRAMMY Week festivities. The album's single "Optimistic" features GRAMMY winner Brandy, who is also on the OMF2018 bill.

The expanded OMF2018 roster continues with many of this summer's hottest talents. DVSN, Kelis, Rapsody, and Jessie Reyez will remind all in attendance and online why people love to watch them, and there will be George Clinton & Parliament to depend upon for funk. Other performers include Big Krit, Davido, Goldlink, St Beauty, and Teedra Moses as well as a special Atlanta crunk set.

Tickets are now on sale via the OMF website.

The Reading and Leeds music festivals are held miles apart at the same time during the U.K.'s summer national holiday, and they swap artists on different days in order to share the same line-up. On Feb. 13 Fall Out Boy, Kings Of Leon and Kendrick Lamar were announced to headline the Aug. 24–26 dates.

The Outside Lands festival is coming to San Francisco's Golden Gate Park on the weekend of Aug. 9–11. They announced their lineup this morning including 61st GRAMMY Awards Record Of The Year winner Childish Gambino and Album Of The Year winner Kacey Musgraves. Gambino aka Donald Glover also won for Best Music Video, Best Rap/Sung Performance and Song Of The Year. Kacey Musgraves' Golden Hour also won Best Country Album. Her track "Space Cowboy" won best Country Song and "Butterflies" won Best Country Solo Performance. The overlap between Outside Lands and winning at the 61st Awards doesn't stop there.

Other 61st winners in Outside Lands' lineup announced on March 26 are Leon Bridges, Lauren Daigle, Ella Mai, PJ Morton, and Anderson .Paak. Nominees from this year's show include Bebe Rexha and Tierra Whack. Tyler Joseph from Twenty One Pilots was nominated for Best Rock Song at the 61st as well.

The Outside Lands lineup is filled with winners of GRAMMY awards from other years as well. The list includes Edie Brickell, Flume, Lil Wayne, Paul Simon, and Mavis Staples. Blink-182, Counting Crows, Hozier, the Lumineers, and Bob Moses are among the artists in the lineup who've previously been nominated for GRAMMY awards.

GRAMMY wins and nominations are recognition for artists but the lesser-known acts coming to Golden Gate Park in August are also exciting and well worth a listen. We've covered San Holo, Yaeji and others. With a lineup this entertaining, the experience in the park this summer is bound to be fantastic.

NYC Council Approves Wu-Tang Clan And Notorious B.I.G. Street Names

NYC is honoring rap history by voting to rename two streets after the iconic rappers

Notorious B.I.G. and the Wu-Tang Clan are steps closer to becoming a permanent part of New York City, their hometown and one of the birthplaces of hip-hop.

The New York City council has unanimously voted to have a Booklyn street become Christopher Wallace Way (after Biggie) and a Staten Island street become Wu-Tang Clan District. The measures are still pending Mayor Bill de Blasio's signature.

"As soon as you put a name on a street sign, you say something about the public importance of that individual," University of Tenn. Geography Professor Derek Alderman told NPR. "Hip-hop deserves that respect."

Brooklyn Community Board 2 first approved the re-naming petition 33-1 in November.

NYC resident LeRoy McCarthy, who led the naming initiatives for both streets, thinks naming a street after Biggie symbolizes something greater than the rapper. "It symbolizes a culture. It symbolizes a borough. It symbolizes a people, and hip-hop is worldwide,” he told Rolling Stone.

The council also voted to name a street after Woody Guthrie in Coney Island, where the iconic folk singer lived in the 1940s.

The block expected to become Christopher Wallace Way is on St. James Place between Fulton Street and Gates Avenue where B.I.G. actually grew up. Wu-Tang Clan District will be centered on the intersection of Vanderbilt Avenue and Targee Street, the location of Sobel Court Park, according to Rolling Stone.

The news of the council passing the measures came shortly after Chuck D was announced as chairman of the celebrity board for the Universal Hip-Hop Museum to open in Brooklyn in 2022.
