It's official: Lady Gaga is dropping her new album, Chromatica, on April 10.

She just revealed the title and date on social media this morning, after teasing "LG6," a.k.a. her sixth studio album, for some time.

The follow-up to 2016's Joanne features her new song "Stupid Love," an electronic-infused pop song about the kind of love that you want so bad. "I would battle for you," she sings. "Not sorry, I want your stupid love."

The pop icon dropped the single along with the music video late February. The electronic pop song's music video, shot on an iPhone, is an otherworldly battle for power.

Gaga took some time "off" to work on her makeup line and star alongside Bradley Cooper in A Star Is Born. The two won GRAMMYs in 2019 for the film's soundtrack, including for their duet on "Shallow." Another soundtrack cut, "I'll Never Love Again," earned Gaga another win, for Best Song Written For Visual Media at the 62nd GRAMMYs earlier this year.

Lizzo, Lady Gaga and Selena Gomez are letting Black groups take over their social media platforms to let them speak on the state of race relations in the U.S.

The video capturing the death of George Floyd under police custody on May 25 has been seen all over the world and has sparked many protests in the country—and beyond. Lizzo is among the music artists who have been actively posting and engaging her fans on the race issues facing the U.S.

"Now that we're at this place where everyone is starting to wake up and educate each other, what's next? How are we pushing this conversation forward towards progress?" the "Juice" singer asked on a video posted to her Instagram revealing that she would let BlackVisions collective from Minneapolis take over her Instagram live at 4 p.m. EST/ 1 p.m. PST on Tuesday, June 5.

She said the group would talk about the issues going on now and provide resources on how people can help.

Lady Gaga, another artist who has been vocal, is also offering her platform to organizations that uplift Black and communities of color.

"Starting tomorrow, I’m giving over my Instagram account to each of the organizations I’ve recently donated to, in an effort to amplify their important voices," the "Rain On Me" singer posted on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. "And after I vow to regularly, in perpetuity, across all of my social media platforms, post stories, content, and otherwise lift up the voices of the countless inspiring members and groups within the Black community."

Selena Gomez, who has shown her public support for the Black Lives Matter movement, announced that she would also be lending her platform to Black voices.

"I have been struggling to know the right things to say to get the word out about this important moment in history. After thinking about how best to use my social media, I decided that we all need to hear more from Black voices," she posted on Instagram. "Over the next few days I will be highlighting influential leaders and giving them a chance to take over my Instagram so that they can speak directly to all of us. We all have an obligation to do better and we can start by listening with an open heart and mind." ⠀

Lizzo, who acknowledged that she was also looking for ways to push conversations of change forward, said there were organizations that have been doing the work and she wanted to give them space to share their message. "I believe in using my platform to give others the chance to speak, " she wrote under her video.

Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande have come together for "Rain On Me," an optimistic pop track about Gaga's personal experiences off her forthcoming album, Chromatica.

"I can feel it on my skin (It's comin' down on me)/ Teardrops on my face (Water like misery)/ Let it wash away my sins (It's coming down on me)," the global pop stars sing together on the chorus. "I'd rather be dry, but at least I'm alive/ Rain on me, rain, rain."

The song is an empowering track about being comfortable with letting tears fall. Gaga revealed the many layers behind the song in an interview with Vulture, sharing that some of the inspiration for it came from her relationship with drinking. "This is about an analog of tears being the rain. And you know what it’s also a metaphor for, is the amount of drinking that I was doing to numb myself," she said. "I’d rather be dry. I’d rather not be drinking, but I haven’t died yet. I’m still alive. Rain on me."

She added that the song also went beyond that. "Okay, I’m going to keep on drinking. This song has many layers," she said.

Grande enters the "Stupid Love" singer's futuristic world in the video released Friday, May 22, with the two dancing together in an out-of-this-planet setting. The video ends with them in a strong embrace.

Gaga has shared how much the collaboration with Grande means to her and thanked Grande for "reminding me I’m strong."  Before the video's release, she tweeted out a special message to the "Stuck with U" singer.

"One time I felt like I was crying so much it would never stop. Instead of fighting it, I thought bring it on, I can do hard things. @arianagrande I love you for your strength and friendship. Let’s show them what we’ve got," she tweeted.

Grande returned the love with more love, revealing what sharing a track with Gaga means to her.

"one time ..... i met a woman who knew pain the same way i did... who cried as much as i did, drank as much wine as i did, ate as much pasta as i did and who’s heart was bigger than her whole body. she immediately felt like a sister to me," she tweeted. "she then held my hand and invited me into the beautiful world of chromatica and together, we got to express how beautiful and healing it feels to mothafuckinnnn cry ! i hope this makes u all feel as uplifted as it does for us both. i love u @ladygaga , u stunning superwoman !"

The class of 2020 will get a special day to celebrate their achievements despite the social-distancing practices throughout the country making it difficult to gather en masse. YouTube is the latest platform to announce their plans to host a virtual commencement for high school and college seniors. Their commencement speakers? Michelle and Barack Obama, BTS and Lady Gaga.

"Dear Class of 2020" will be an hours-long event featuring leaders, celebrities and music artists on June 6 at 3 p.m. EST/ 12 p.m. PST in celebration of students whose commencement ceremonies were canceled due to COVID-19. Malala Yousafzai, former Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and CEO of Google and Alphabet Sundar Pichai are additional commencement speakers for the event on the video platform. Barack and Michelle will give individual speeches as well as words together.

According to the National Center For Education Statistics, 3.7 million students are expected to graduate from high school in 2020. Facebook and HerCampus will also have their own ceremonies for graduating seniors.

YouTube's global head of content Susanne Daniel wants students to celebrate what they've achieved regardless of the current circumstances.

"Graduation is a tradition that students and families look forward to and with the current state of the world, YouTube is lending some inspiration in the form of a virtual commencement. We hope bringing together noteworthy, influential speakers along with performances from some of their favorite artists will provide encouragement for the students who have worked so hard to get here," she said in a statement.

YouTube's event will also feature appearances from asapSCIENCE, Alicia Keys, Chloe x Halle, Kelly Rowland, Kerry Washington, The Try Guys, Zendaya, Mr Kate, Dude Perfect, Jackie Aina and Zane Hijazi.

Michelle Obama's Reach Higher Initiative, NBC’s "Today," Ideas United, Malala Fund, and Born This Way Foundation are coming together with the platform to also showcase student stories during the ceremony. But the excitement won't end there. BTS are among the musical acts to play the event after-party. Stream YouTube's commencement here.

Lady Gaga Delays Forthcoming 'Chromatica' Album Release Date Due To COVID-19

A new release date for the highly-anticipated album now delayed because of the coronavirus has yet to be announced

Ahead of what was scheduled to be the release date for her highly anticipated sixth studio album Chromatica, GRAMMY-winning pop songstress Lady Gaga has announced she will postpone the album’s release, originally set for April 10, due to COVID-19.

Gaga is the latest artist in the industry to be affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Much of the music industry has been hit hard and has been forced to adapt to a new normal of quarantining and social distancing. The COVID-19 outbreak has caused tours and festivals to be canceled or postponed, vinyl and CD distribution to be halted and several other artists, including Willie Nelson and Hinds, to push back album release dates.

Lady Gaga took to Instagram on Tuesday (Mar. 24), to address the decision behind pushing Chromatica’s release as well as to encourage fans to stay safe at home.

Gaga wrote:

“… after a lot of deliberation, I’ve made the incredibly tough decision to postpone the release of Chromatica… This is such a scary and hectic time for all of us, and while I believe art is one of the strongest things we have to provide joy and healing to each other during times like this, it just doesn’t feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on during this global pandemic.”

The “Stupid Love” singer did not provide a new release date for fans, but ensured that more details on the rollout will become available soon. Chromatica marks the artist’s first offering since appearing on the GRAMMY-winning soundtrack of “A Star is Born” in 2018 and her first solo full-length release since 2016’s Joanne.

In addition to holding off on the album, Gaga also announced that her MGM residency in Vegas that was set to host a series of the artist’s performances from April 30 – May 11 will be postponed citing CDC regulations on large public gatherings. She also revealed that a surprise performance that was in the works for the now-postponed Coachella festival, may now never see the light of day.
