What did Kacey Musgraves think of her Album Of The Year win for Golden Hour at the 61st GRAMMY Awards?

"This is a huge deal, this is a huge honor," the now six-time GRAMMY winner said in GRAMMYs TV/Radio room. "Obviously, the country album means a lot to me because that's where my heart is, that's where I grew up. I grew up singing traditional Western swing. There's no way I can get rid of that in me."

Kacey Musgraves On Her GRAMMY Wins & More

Then, acknowledging her fellow category nominees, Cardi B, Brandi Carlile, Janelle Monaé, H.E.R., Post Malone and Drake, she said: "To say that something I'm a part of is the best out of a year, a year in which was thriving with creativity, uniqueness, bold creators stepping out with something to say, the weight of that I don't think will hit me for a really long time."

The 2019 GRAMMY Awards saw major wins for women in several categories, including Cardi B for Best Rap Album and Carlile's wins in the American Roots categories. As GRAMMY nominee Ashley McBryde spoke about in her interview with the Recording Academy, women in the country genre have long faced challenges of underrepresentation on country radio. Musgraves is a wildly successful example of how an artist without a long history of radio support may be recognized outside of that arena. When asked what it felt to be one of the artists representing women at the GRAMMYs, she spoke how much of a community effort it is too see women succeed.

Ashley McBryde On Self-Acceptance & Why There's Room For Everyone In Country Music

"Women have a really necessary perspective to art, to music, and it's really nice to see that getting a chance to be included," she said. "I think it takes two to tango in that. I think it takes women having the balls to put out art that might not always be liked by everyone, but it also takes people on the other side of that to reach out and give those things a chance to be heard or seen.

"When I think of all of us out there that just love music, we love it when it hits a nerve, you know? No matter what it sounds like, and we're all made of the same stuff. All the same emotions, we all need the same things to survive in that way and so I feel like if you just pay attention to that, what you're feeling and that's what makes it into your songs."

The singer/songwriter also spoke about the eclectic influences that went into Golden Hour and the meaning of her latest single "Rainbow." Catch more of the interview above.

The 61st GRAMMY Awards on Feb. 10 really lived up to its name as Music's Biggest Night, with tons of show-stopping performances, powerful speeches and big wins throughout the night.

Yet the big show was just one piece of the excitement for a celebratory and star-studded GRAMMY Week. Let's take a look at pictures capturing the big moments from some of the other events you may have missed last week.

GRAMMY Week was in full-force midweek, with the Producers & Engineers Wing Celebration honoring GRAMMY-winning country legend Willie Nelson on Feb. 6. Artists including fellow GRAMMY winner Dave Matthews paid tribute to the icon.

The week continued with engaging programs and events from the GRAMMY Museum, most of which were geared towards aspiring musicians. This included a Mississippi Songwriting Workshop for local students on Feb. 7, followed by an evening event celebrating the blues with performances from PJ Morton and more. Also on Feb. 7, GRAMMY In The Schools Live! celebrated music educators like honoree Jeffery Redding and rocked The Montalbán with performances from alumni of GRAMMY Camp, one of the museum's student-focused offerings.

There were also handfuls of great sponsored parties, like the Delta Airline's event on Feb. 7 featuring Ella Mai and the Bulova Brunch on Feb. 9 featuring GRAMMY-winning great Chaka Khan.

On Feb. 8, the MusiCares Person Of The Year Celebration celebrated their 2019 honoree, the GRAMMY-winning queen of country Dolly Parton. Her goddaughter Miley Cyrus, along with Katy Perry, Shawn Mendes and more celebrated the legend with dazzling Dolly-inspired looks and tribute performances.
