John Legend Producing "Rhythm & Flow" Netflix Competition Show
John Legend is no newbie to producing TV shows. He recently produced WGN American's series "Underground," and is developing a series called "Black Wall Street" for the same network. But now he and his production company Get Lifted Film Co. are dipping their toes into the competitive musical TV show market.
Titled "Rhythm & Flow," the GRAMMY winner, along with TV producer Jeff Gaspin, are developing a hip-hop and R&B-based music competition show for Netflix. While no talent is currently attached to the project and few additional details are currently available, Variety reports Netflix is approaching a final deal with Legend and Gaspin to buy the series.
This would be Netflix's first talent competition series, and would put the streaming network in direct competition with ABC's newly revived "American Idol," Fox's "The Four" and NBC's "The Voice." Netflix entered the reality competition market in February with their obstacle course series "Ultimate Beastmaster."
