Each year, MTV's Music Video Awards recognizes one especially pioneering artist for their musical accomplishments with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. This year, that honoree is Jennifer Lopez.

In addition to a string of hits and an extensive filmography, JLo has earned two career Latin GRAMMY nominations and two GRAMMY nominations, including for Best Dance Recording for her hit "Let's Get Loud" at the 43rd GRAMMY Awards. The New York native most recently released the diamond-crusted track "Dinero" with DJ Khaled and Cardi B, which has been nominated for two VMAs this year.

The Video Vanguard Award has been given every year since the VMAs' inaugural awards presentation in 1984 when the award was shared by David Bowie, the Beatles and Richard Lester. Other past recipients include Janet Jackson, Madonna, Tom Petty, Britney Spears, LL Cool J, Rihanna, and most recently, Pink.

Lopez's appearance on the show will include an acceptance speech and performance — her first since 2001 — when the VMAs go live from Radio City Music Hall in New York Aug. 20.

Apple Music has weighed in on their predictions for the 2018 song of the summer

As we quickly close in on the official start of summer, major streaming services are starting to weigh in on which songs might earn the coveted song of the summer title.

From Apple Music's perspective, Pharrell Williams and Camila Cabello are the top pick with "Sangria Wine." The saucy, bilingual title certainly evokes a chill summer backyard barbeque, complete with cooling drink in hand.

Number two on the list is Ariana Grande's lead single from her upcoming album Sweetener, "No Tears Left To Cry." The ethereal vocals take this song to the next level, and lifted it up to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. This is followed by Clean Bandit's "Solo" featuring Demi Lovato in the third position. A clean EDM track that centers around Lovato's vocals, it sets the perfect backdrop for a summer fling gone wrong.

Apple Music's fourth prediction belongs to Calvin Harris' "One Kiss" with Dua Lipa, another EDM entry that, according to Forbes, "plays like an homage to '90s house music." Rounding out the Top 5 is Post Malone's latest single, "Better Now."

Other artists Apple Music has their sights on this summer include Jennifer Lopez with Cardi B and DJ Khaled ("Dinero"), J. Cole ("KOD"), Childish Gambino ("This Is America"), BTS ("Fake Love"), Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin ("I Like It"), and Ella Mai ("Boo'd Up"), among others.

So what do you think? Are any of these tracks already bumping on your summer road trip playlist?

Get ready for the second annual Calibash Las Vegas, one of the hottest concert events of the year celebrating Latin urban music.

For The Record: Jennifer Lopez And Marc Anthony

The 2018 installment of the Sin City show will be headlined by Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin, with Maluma, Ozuna, Bad Bunny, and Farruko also slated to perform. It will be held at T-Mobile Arena on Jan. 27, just one week after the Los Angeles event.

"Undoubtedly, this is the best opportunity to enjoy with your loved ones this first-class show, in Las Vegas and as the official Latin party of the beginning of the year," said Lucas Piña, senior vice president of SBS Entertainment, according to Billboard.

The week prior, Los Angeles' 11th annual Calibash will be held at Staples Center on Jan. 20. The L.A. lineup will feature J Balvin, Lopez, Wisin Y Yandel, Bad Bunny, Ozuna, Becky G, Natti Natasha, and French Montana.

Tickets for both the Los Angeles and Las Vegas concerts are on sale now vis AXS.

Since its inception 11 years ago, the Calibash concert has celebrated Latin music in the hip-hop, urban, tropical, pop, and R&B genres and has grown into the largest show of its kind in Los Angeles. If the initial lineup announcement for the 2018 installment is any indication, next year's fest will be a good one.

Hosted by radio station KXOL-FM and SBS, the lineup will include all-stars J Balvin, Jennifer Lopez, Wisin Y Yandel, Bad Bunny, Ozuna, Becky G, Natti Natasha, and French Montana.

The GRAMMY nominee readies film that chronicles her breathtaking comeback

It's been almost a year since Kesha released her breathtaking comeback album, Rainbow. A work of sheer perseverance, strength and resilience, the journey to get that album made was no small feat. It's an accomplishment that deserves to be celebrated time and time again. On Aug. 10, the GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter will do just that by commemorating the one-year anniversary of the album with the documentary, Rainbow — The Film.

Rainbow — The Film, which was directed by Kesha, her brother Lagan Sebert and Kevin Hayden, will present "psychedelic vignettes" that chronicle the making of her 2017 LP. Through never-before-seen film footage, viewers gain insight into Kesha's personal life and how she overcame impossible hurdle after hurdle to create a beautiful album that showcases self-love, courage and the power of music to heal.

"Making Rainbow the album was such a therapeutic process and given the opportunity to turn it into a three-dimensional piece of art has helped me find even deeper healing and catharsis," Kesha said in a statement. "I hope this film inspires others to never give up even if you feel full of hurt or lost, because after the storm comes a rainbow. Depression, anxiety and mental illness are things we all need to talk about more, and there is no shame in asking for help. Making the decision to work on yourself is the bravest thing you can do. I hope this film helps bring light and love to everyone."

ANIMALS I'm so excited to share with you that #RainbowTheFilm is coming on August 10!!
Watch it only on @AppleMusic https://t.co/ScnCGJLvaL pic.twitter.com/qy6U4syOQW

— kesha (@KeshaRose) July 30, 2018

Look for Kesha's documentary on Apple Music starting Aug. 10. In the meantime, paint those rainbows on your face like warpaint, because Rainbow demands it: "Just put those colors on, girl/Come and play along with me tonight."
