How 88rising's Asia Rising Together Benefit Concert Is Supporting The AAPI Community
Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month 2021 may be winding down, but a powerful virtual livestream is ensuring it goes out with a bang. 88rising, a revered pan-Asian music company, has announced Asia Rising Together, a benefit concert hinged on "celebrating the Asian community to ultimately raise funds and awareness," according to a press release about the event.
Featuring performances from KOAD, Luna Li, mxmtoon, NIKI, Seori, Tiger JK, and other leading lights, Asia Rising Together will stream via 88rising's Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and SiriusXM channels tonight (May 26) starting at 7 p.m. PT.
"This is a really unique livestream centered around family and culture," performer Audrey Mika said in a statement. "I filmed part of my set with my mom and sister, and being able to share our Japanese roots on this platform is really special to me. I hope this shows everyone you can chase your dreams, stay true to yourself, and be proud of who you are in the process."
Asia Rising Together will also feature AAPI-centric programming that spotlights AAPI businesses and organizations. "88rising is committed to using music and our platforms to elevate AAPI voices, to raise awareness for issues affecting our AAPI community, and to denounce anti-Asian hate," Sean Miyashiro, the CEO and Founder of 88rising, added in his own statement.
Following the livestream tonight, Asia Rising Together will be available on-demand for two weeks on 88rising's Facebook, YouTube and Twitter channels.
Tune into this unique concert via the social channels above to make sure you bring the AAPI love into the rest of the year!
