Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Unveils 2019 Lineup: Iron & Wine, Margo Price & More
San Francisco's Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival has revealed its first 10 acts. Among them are GRAMMY nominees country songstress Margo Price, soul country singer/songwriter Bettye LaVette and indie folk singer Iron & Wine in a collaboration with Calexico.
Hayes Carll, the Meat Puppets, Dakhabrakha, Steve Earle & The Dukes, The Milk Carton Kids, Jackie Greene and the Waterboys close out the first line of performers at the 19-year-old free festival, taking place on Oct. 4–6 at Golden Gate Park.
"To me, this lineup reflects our event's legacy while looking ahead to the future," Hardly Strictly’s talent buyer Chris Porter said in a statement. "Steve Earle has been celebrating with us since 2002 and artists like Margo Price and Dahkabrahka are making their first Hardly Strictly Bluegrass appearances."
Every October, the fest features over 80 performers for three days of music and brings hundreds of thousands of music lovers to the park. This year, Jackie Greene, Meat Puppets, Hayes Carll, Calexico and Iron & Wine and the Waterboys will play intimate performances at local city venues around the dates of the festival as a part of the Hardly Strictly Out Of The Park series. One dollar from every ticket sold will go to Music In The Schools Today, a non-profit that supports music education.
