The GRAMMYs At Wango Tango With Afrojack, Miguel, Emeli Sandé, And More
GRAMMY.com conducted interviews with a variety of artists at KIIS-FM's Wango Tango festival at the Home Depot Center on May 11 in Carson, Calif. Artists interviewed included GRAMMY winners Afrojack and Miguel as well as singer/songwriters Jason Derulo and Emeli Sandé, actress/singer Ariana Grande, and dance/electronica group Krewella, among others. Topics discussed included the experience of performing at Wango Tango, upcoming music projects and the thrill of Music's Biggest Night.
"I don't think [I] would have had the chance to play Wango Tango had it not been for [my 55th GRAMMY] performance," said Miguel.
"[The GRAMMY is] the greatest prize you can win in music," added Afrojack.
"[Wango Tango] is definitely all about reaching new people [who] might have never heard of your music before," said Krewella vocalist Yasmine Yousaf.
Launched in 1998, Wango Tango is an annual daylong concert produced by Los Angeles radio station KISS-FM. Hosted by GRAMMY Foundation Honorary Chair Ryan Seacrest and guest hosted by GRAMMY winner Britney Spears, the 2013 Wango Tango concert featured performances by GRAMMY winners Afrojack, Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, Miguel, and will.i.am; and Derulo, Emblem3, Fall Out Boy, Flo Rida, Grande, Avril Lavigne, Icona Pop, Krewella, Demi Lovato, and Sandé.
