Fall Out Boy Bring "Champion" Spirit To Chicago
Fall Out Boy are jumping in with tangible help for Chicago schools by donating 20,000 Back To The Roots educational kits to elementary school students. This is just the beginning of the band's plans for their Fall Out Boy Fund and #FOBChampion Instagram campaign, which will accompany their tour and make donations to local champions in various cities.
"Our #FOBChampion campaign is a way to spread a little light during dark times," the band said in a statement. "We want to celebrate people that exemplify kindness, bravery, generosity, and everything else that brings goodness to the forefront."
Fall Out Boy's "Champion" video shows virtual dreams with a lyric that "if I can live through this, I can do anything," across an array of diverse individuals. Fans are encouraged to nominate people and organizations making a difference in their communities.
Fall Out Boy join a groundswell of artists stepping up to make a difference and address the issues close to their hearts. The 2017 Global Citizen Festival is just over a week away. Recent musical efforts have included the "Hand In Hand" telethon and the "Harvey Can't Mess With Texas" benefit will happen in a week. Demi Lovato also recently spoke out that "it's important that we don't forget ... that we continue to help volunteer." It's inspiring to see music in the lead as people work together for a better world.
