Elvis Presley: New Orchestral Christmas Album Coming To Town
Is it too early to start thinking about the holidays? Of course not.
When it comes to holiday classics, a copy of 1957's Elvis' Christmas Album is a must-have. Now, Elvis Presley's estate is pairing some of the songs on that album, as well as some additional yuletide classics sung by the King, with some orchestral sweetening for a new must-have posthumous holiday album.
Due Oct. 6, Elvis Presley — Christmas with Elvis And The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will feature Presley vocal performances from Elvis' Christmas Album and 1971's Elvis Sings The Wonderful World Of Christmas, all backed by freshly recorded arrangements from London's decorated Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
The 13-song symphonic set is sure to bring a big hunk o' cheer this holiday season, including favorites such as "Santa Claus Is Back In Town," "White Christmas," "Blue Christmas," "Winter Wonderland," and "Silver Bells."
"The songs chosen were songs that Elvis was particularly fond of, and it seemed quite fitting to have the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra once again accompanying him at this very special time of year," said Priscilla Presley, Presley's widow and the album's executive producer.
The new holiday album is the latest in a line of orchestral Presley releases, following 2015's If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley With the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and 2016's The Wonder Of You: Elvis Presley With the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
