Chicago And Rick Springfield Announce Summer 2020 Tour
Two icons of rock are hitting the road. GRAMMY winners Chicago and Rick Springfield today (Dec. 2) announced plans for a major co-headlining tour next summer, running from June through August 2020. The 26-date trek will take the artists to amphitheaters across North America.
Following a recent performance at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in November, Chicago returns to New York City this month for another holiday performance at this year's "Christmas In Rockefeller Center" special, airing Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 8 p.m. on NBC. Tune in to hear holiday tunes off the group's most recent album, Chicago Christmas (2019). In addition to 10 GRAMMY nominations, and one win for Best Pop Vocal Performance By A Duo, Group Or Chorus for their 1976 song, "If You Leave Me Now," Chicago's 1969 album, Chicago Transit Authority, was inducted into the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame in 2014.
Springfield is best known for his '80s classic "Jessie's Girl," which won for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Male at the 1981 GRAMMYs. He's since received three additional GRAMMY nominations throughout the '80s, in addition to notching 17 U.S. Top 40 hits.
