In light of the recent developments and following the measures taken by the national public health authorities, we deeply regret to inform you that we have decided to postpone @listenfestivalbrussels 2020. Listen! will now take place from 10 to 15 November 2020. As most of you know, our 2020 motto is “United in Music and Diversity”. During the current coronavirus outbreak, there is no doubt in our minds that we all need to be united, first and foremost, for the safety and health of everyone. We strongly recommend everyone to thoroughly follow the recommendations issued by the public health officials. All tickets purchased for our March edition will of course be valid for the new dates of the rescheduled edition. More information on the specific dates of each event will be shared as soon as possible. We take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support over the past 5 years. We look forward to being #united again soon. The Listen! Team
In a post shared to the festival's official social media accounts, the promoters behind Listen! Festival cited the ongoing developments surrounding the coronavirus pandemic and "the measures taken by the national public health authorities" as the reason for the festival's postponement.
"As most of you know, our 2020 motto is 'United in Music and Diversity,'" the post read. "During the current coronavirus outbreak, there is no doubt in our minds that we all need to be united, first and foremost, for the safety and health of everyone. We strongly recommend everyone to thoroughly follow the recommendations issued by the public health officials."
Tickets purchased for the March edition will be honored for the rescheduled November dates. The festival will announce more information regarding the individual events and specific dates "as soon as possible," according to the post.
Listen! Festival 2020, the event's fifth edition, was originally scheduled to host local and international electronic artists like John Talabot, Dengue Dengue Dengue, Gilles Peterson & MC General Rubbish, Hessle Audio Trio, Suzi Analogue, The Alchemist and many others. The festival has not yet announced any potential lineup changes or artist cancellations due to the postponement.
The news about Listen! Festival 2020 follows multiple festival and tour cancellations and postponements due to the global coronavirus pandemic. This month alone, Coachella and Stagecoach, Ultra Music Festival, SXSW, Treefort Music Fest and several other major events were called off due to the coronavirus.
