Bruce Springsteen Reveals New Album 'Western Stars' Is Coming Soon
20-time GRAMMY-winner and all-around American rock icon Bruce Springsteen announced today that he will be releasing a new album, Western Stars, on June 14.
It is his 19th studio album and first since 2014's High Hopes. He will be sharing the lead single, "Hello Sunshine," along with its video, at midnight tonight.
"This record is a return to my solo recordings featuring character driven songs and sweeping, cinematic orchestral arrangements. It's a jewel box of a record," Springsteen wrote in today's tweet.
According to a press release, the forthcoming LP is inspired by "Southern California pop records of the late '60s and early '70s," whose tracks cover "a sweeping range of American themes, of highways and desert spaces, of isolation and community and the permanence of home and hope."
The Boss co-produced the album with Ron Aniello, who he worked with on his last few albums, including High Hopes and 2016's Chapter & Verse, which served as a companion to his GRAMMY-nominated memoir, Born to Run.
This past December, he wrapped up his stripped-down concert series "Springsteen On Broadway," which he began in late 2017. He has yet to announce any 2019 show dates.
