Bon Iver Announce Wisconsin Concert Dates To Increase Voter Turnout For 2020 Presidential Election
Bon Iver have announced a series of concert dates in their home state of Wisconsin as a way to get fans to vote for the upcoming presidential election.
The group, led by Justin Vernon, will kick off the three dates in La Crosse on Oct. 5, then head to Wausau on Oct. 8 and wrap up in Appleton on Oct. 8. Fans have to pledge to vote on Tuesday, Nov. 3 in order to get access to presale tickets on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
"They say Wisconsin could decide it all in 2020," the band tweeted. "We don't take that lightly."
The initiative is in collaboration with 46 for 46, a campaign aiming to organize 46 concerts in 46 cities to get more people to the voting booths this year. Dashboard Confessional and Hound Mouth are among other artists participating in the campaign.
46 for 46 said, "Bon Iver hopes to bring ppl into the political process, & show the rest of the country that WI can still live up to its progressive history."
Remaining tickets for all dates will be available Feb. 21. For more information, visit Bon Iver's website.
