Ask The GRAMMYs: How Can I Watch Music's Biggest Night in 2014?
With the 56th GRAMMY Awards telecast less than three weeks away, in our second installment of Ask The GRAMMYs we feature a question pertaining to tune-in information for viewers around the world and provide information on GRAMMY performers and opportunities to attend Music's Biggest Night:
Am I able to watch the GRAMMYs live on the official site from Perth, Australia, or is at America-only access? Do you know if it's aired here? Thanks. — Lilac
Lilac, great question! (Maybe that's why we selected it.) While the GRAMMY telecast is not available for streaming online, you can tune in to the 56th GRAMMYs on the Foxtel network in Australia on Monday, Jan. 27, at 12 p.m.
However, the Pre-Telecast Ceremony (which takes place prior to the awards show and announces GRAMMYs in more than 70 categories) will be streamed online. It will stream on the GRAMMY Live page at GRAMMY.com on Sunday, Jan. 26, at 4 p.m. ET. (Hopefully you can do the math to figure out the start time in Perth, but it will also be available on demand for a month after the show.)
For viewers residing outside of the United States, did you know the GRAMMYs can be viewed in more than 170 countries around the world, including, Canada, China, the Dominican Republic, France, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Puerto Rico, and throughout Africa and South America, among others? Make sure to check your local listings for specific broadcast information.
And for our U.S. viewers, the 56th GRAMMYs will take place live on Sunday, Jan. 26, at Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast on the CBS Television Network from 8–11:30 p.m. (ET/PT).
Some of you also wrote in asking if some of your favorite artists will be performing. Here is a list of performers set to perform on GRAMMY Sunday so far:
Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, and Blake Shelton
Kendrick Lamar with Imagine Dragons
Metallica with Lang Lang
Pink and Nate Ruess (of Fun.)
Daft Punk with Nile Rodgers (of Chic), Pharrell Williams, and Stevie Wonder
Robin Thicke with Chicago
Keep checking GRAMMY.com as we announce more performers soon!
Finally, some of you also asked how you can attend the GRAMMY Awards. While tickets to the telecast are only available for purchase for GRAMMY nominees and members of The Recording Academy and music industry, we are giving fans the opportunity to win a trip to this year's ceremony in Los Angeles.
By pre-ordering the 2014 GRAMMY Nominees album by Jan. 20, you can enter for a chance to win a trip for two to the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards on Jan. 26 (no purchase necessary). In addition, each album purchased in stores will include a special game piece featuring a unique code for a chance to play the GRAMMY Ticket Game. To participate, use the code at GRAMMY.com/2014GRAMMYAlbum for a chance to win a trip for two to the 57th GRAMMYs in 2015!
Owning 18 of the top hits from the past year, plus a once-in-a-lifetime chance to attend the GRAMMYs? That's a great way to start 2014 if we do say so ourselves.
