Did you know?: Eminem made a memorable recovery at the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards, garnering 10 nominations and taking home two awards, including Best Rap Album for Recovery. The album topped the Billboard 200 for five consecutive weeks, and also reached No. 1 on Billboard's Rap Albums, R&B Albums and Digital Albums charts. "Not Afraid" peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Digital Songs chart. Considered one of the greatest MCs of his generation, Eminem was born Marshall Mathers in St. Joseph, Mo. He took on the Slim Shady moniker in 1996 and released The Slim Shady EP in 1999, garnering interest from mentor Dr. Dre and landing a record deal with Interscope Records. Eminem is tied with Tom Petty on the RIAA's top-selling artists list with 29 million albums sold. He again took to the GRAMMY stage this year for a performance of "Love The Way You Lie" with Rihanna and "I Need A Doctor" with Dr. Dre and singer/songwriter Skylar Grey. Eminem has now won a total of 13 GRAMMYs in his career.
