Previous wins: Jones also won the Best Pop Instrumental Album award in 2009 for Potato Hole, as well as Best Pop Instrumental Performance as part of Booker T. & The MG's for "Cruisin'" in 1994.
Did you know?: The Road From Memphis was co-produced by Jones with Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson of the Roots. Featuring Jones' famed Hammond B-3 organ up front in the mix, the album covers songs such as Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" and Lauryn Hill's "Everything Is Everything" (video below), and includes nine tracks written or co-written by Jones. Booker T. & The MG's, who were the house band at Stax Records in the '60s and '70s, received a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Recording Academy in 2007.
