Jay-Z, Keys Pick Up Tony Award Noms
Nominations were announced today for the 2010 Tony Awards with GRAMMY winners Jay-Z, Alicia Keys and Will Smith picking up 11 nominations, including Best Musical, for their production of "Fela!" Jay-Z, Keys, Smith, and producer Jada Pinkett Smith, among others, are tied for most nominations of the year with the revival of "La Cage Aux Folles." Also picking up a nomination for Best Musical was "American Idiot," based on the GRAMMY-winning Green Day album, and GRAMMY winner Bon Jovi's David Bryan for "Memphis." The Tony Awards will take place June 13 in New York. (5/4)

Sirius XM Radio Posts Profit
Sirius XM Radio has posted its second consecutive quarterly profit with a first-quarter net income of $41.6 million, compared to the year-earlier loss of $238.8 million. First quarter sales increased 11 percent to $670.6 million, and the company added 171,441 net subscribers, bringing the total subscriber base to 19 million, according to Sirius XM Chief Executive Mel Karmazin. UMG Acquires Finnish Indie Groups
Universal Music Group will acquire Finnish rock and pop music companies Johanna Kustannus, Love Music Publishing and Siboney. While terms have not been disclosed, the dncluded in the deal is the recorded music catalog of Love Records, which includes artists Agit-Prop, Tabula Rasa and Wigwam. The agreement follows a previous distribution deal between UMG and Siboney, which has released more than 200 albums from the Love Records catalog and Johanna Kustannus, including albums by Hanoi Rocks, the Leningrad Cowboys and Pelle Miljoona.
