When thinking of red-carpet glamour, think of long legs are at the top of the list. Along with a stunning dress, buckets full of charisma and a great strut, long legs are a key focus on the red carpet. Looking leggy on the red carpet is by no means easy, but here are a few tips that can give you the illusion of long, lean legs, regardless of your height.
My most clever trick is to pick shoes that accentuate the calves, such as wedges, mules or stilettos. To make yourself look as tall as possible, be cautious of shoes with ankle straps as the horizontal lines around the foot can make you look shorter.
Another styling secret for exceptionally long legs is to dress in one color, from head to toe. By doing this you create a block of color, which helps make you seem taller.
Again, it all comes down to the right pair of shoes. For those dedicated to increasing their red-carpet height, I suggest a pointed-toe heel as this will give you an instant heightening effect.
Aside from shoes, wearing the right skirt or dress can also add some height. To do this, opt for straight or A-line skirts and avoid tight or tapered styles. Skirts with vertical lines will add more artificial inches. Also, in order to make people think your legs start at a higher point, you can opt for a high-waist skirt. To further accentuate this look, wear a belt around the small of the waist or wear a top tucked into the skirt.
My final tip for you is this: Stand tall, be proud and work it!
