How many of us carry around a huge makeup bag with way too many items (just in case we need them), or don't carry enough and find ourselves borrowing products from friends?

I was one of those who had way too much in my makeup bag, and needed to downsize. My purse kept growing in size to accommodate my large makeup selection. So, let's break down how you can stock your makeup bag with the perfect necessities.

Every woman needs some form of foundation in her kit, but not in her bag. I suggest carrying around a concealer for touch-ups. Find a concealer that is creamier and closer to your skin tone, maybe even a bit lighter. You shouldn't need to re-do your full face throughout the day; a little concealer goes a long way and gives you an instant fresh face. Another makeup bag stable is a cream blush! I love this product because it works by adding color to both my cheeks and lips, giving that perfect stained look. Using a cream blush will last longer throughout the day and eliminate the need to carry around a product for both your cheeks and lips.

Next, I suggest great mascara. Volumizing mascaras are my favorite because they give you the most bang for your buck. There is nothing like an extra coat or two of mascara to bring your look back from a work-day death. I am also never caught without eyeliner. Whether it's black, brown, blue, or green, eyeliner is the perfect complement to a fresh face. To transition into a night look, you can wing your eyeliner out to the corners of your eyes, or smudge it for a hint of shadow or a flawless smoky eye. I love products that can multitask. This is why every woman should have eyeliner in her makeup bag.

I also like to throw in a translucent powder because my skin has a tendency to get oily.

So, stocking your makeup bag is as simple as this: concealer, cream blush, mascara, and eyeliner. These are the products that every woman should stock in her makeup bag so she will always be prepared for whatever comes her way!
