Faxon Appointed EMI Group CEO
Roger Faxon, chairman and chief executive of EMI Music Publishing, will now also head up the recorded music division as EMI Music CEO, effective immediately. Faxon will maintain responsibility for both the publishing business and recorded music division. The appointment marks EMI's move into what the company is calling a repositioning into a comprehensive rights management company. (6/18)

Hirschhorn To Exit MySpace
MySpace has confirmed Co-President Jason Hirschhorn will leave the company, according to Digital Music News. Co-President Mike Jones will assume full presidential responsibility and a replacement for Hirschorn is not planned. (6/18)

Nelson, Santana To Record Pro-Immigration Track
Latin GRAMMY- and GRAMMY-winning artists Ramón Ayala and Carlos Santana, and GRAMMY winner Willie Nelson are among the artists to be featured on "Claro Que Se Pude," a pro-immigration song to be digitally released in July. The song will be recorded in four versions including the original, regional Mexican, rock, and English. The track will appear on Proyecto De Amor, produced by the Hermes Music Foundation and set to be released this fall. All proceeds will benefit the foundation, which raises funds for children's health programs in Mexico, and co-writer Dolores Huerta's social justice and community organizing foundation. (6/18)
