GRAMMY winners Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto has sold more than 500,000 downloads in its first week of release, setting a record at iTunes worldwide, according to The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 447,000 units sold across all formats, marking the third-largest sales week of the year for an album, behind Lady Gaga's Born This Way, which debuted with 1.1 million units sold, and Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV (964,000 units), and the biggest sales week for a rock album since U2's No Line On The Horizon debuted at the top of the chart with 484,000 units sold in 2009. The band has bypassed subscription streaming services as part of its marketing strategy. (11/4)

reported third-quarter net income of $51.7 million, up slightly from $51 million during the year-ago quarter, and a 3 percent decrease in revenue to $1.79 billion for the three months ending Sept. 30. Concert attendance declined 4 percent to 12.3 million during the third quarter, and concert revenue fell 7 percent to $1.28 billion. Ticket sales rose to 34.9 million and ticket revenue, including sales from Ticketmaster, increased 10 percent to $287 million. (11/4)
