French composer Ludovic Bource won the Oscar for Music (Original Score) for The Artist at the 84th Annual Academy Awards on Feb. 26 in Los Angeles. The film also won for Best Picture, marking the sixth film in the last 20 years to garner best score and picture honors. GRAMMY winner Bret McKenzie of Flight Of The Conchords earned the Music (Original Song) award for "Man Or Muppet" from The Muppets. (2/27)

Hogan Named Chairman/CEO Of Clear Channel
John Hogan has been promoted to chairman and chief executive officer for Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, effective immediately, according to a report. Hogan has served as president and CEO of the formerly named Clear Channel Radio since 2002. (2/27)

Live Nation Reports 4Q Loss
Live Nation reported a fourth-quarter operating loss of $64.2 million, a smaller deficit compared to a loss of $79.6 million during the year-ago quarter, and a 4.2 percent decline in revenue to $1.19 billion. The company attributes the decrease in revenue to the 12.1 percent decline in concert revenue during the quarter. (2/27)
