Apple Unveils iPhone 5
Today Apple unveiled the new iPhone 5 during a press conference in San Francisco. Equipped with a larger screen and a thinner and lighter body, the iPhone 5 marks the first hardware redesign for the device since 2010. The new iPhone will also feature better integration with Facebook and will run on Apple's new iOS 6 system. Prices range from $199 for a 16GB model to $399 for the 64GB model. The iPhone 5 will be available for pre-order beginning Sept. 14 and will launch Sept. 21, according to the Los Angeles Times. (9/12)

Kennedy Center Honorees Announced
GRAMMY winner Buddy Guy, actor Dustin Hoffman, Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipients Led Zeppelin, TV host David Letterman, and ballerina Natalia Makarova have been selected to receive the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors award. The individuals will be recognized at the 35th annual Honors Gala at the Kennedy Center Opera House on Dec. 2 in Washington, D.C. Recipients are recognized for their lifetime contributions to American culture through the performing artists, and are selected by the center's Board of Trustees. Past recipients have included Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, Plácido Domingo, Paul McCartney, Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross, and Bruce Springsteen, among others. (9/12)
