Allman, Douglas, Williams Honored At Americana Awards
GRAMMY-winning artists Gregg Allman, Jerry Douglas and Lucinda Williams, along with GRAMMY-nominated producer Rick Hall were honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Americana Music Association at the 10th Annual Americana Honors & Awards show on Oct. 13 in Nashville. GRAMMY-winning producer and singer/songwriter Buddy Miller was the only multiple winner, picking up honors for Artist of the Year and Instrumentalist of the Year. Also picking up awards were the Avett Brothers, Justin Townes Earle, GRAMMY nominees Mumford & Sons, and GRAMMY winner Robert Plant. The awards ceremony took place during the 12th Annual Americana Music Festival and Conference, during which Recording Academy President/CEO Neil Portnow gave the keynote address . (10/17)

Spotify Hits 250,000 Subscribers
Online music streaming service Spotify has reached 250,000 paying U.S. subscribers and approximately 2 million overall users since its July stateside launch, according to a Reuters report. Worldwide, the company says it has reached 2 million paying subscribers, and its paid subscribers to active free users ratio is more than 15 percent, meaning Spotify has approximately 13.3 million active users in the nine countries in which the service is available. Atom Factory Music Licensing, Getty Images Music Ink Deal
Music licensing/supervision company Atom Factory Music Licensing and Getty Images Music have announced a partnership that will make the latter the commercial licensing platform distribution for AFML's catalog of more than 1,000 artists and songs, and AFML will provide its composition and supervision services. The partnership marks Getty's first significant licensing deal with a music production company and AFML's first commercial licensing distribution deal. (10/17)

YouTube Launches Merchandise Store
has launched an online store that will allow artists to sell merchandise directly from their YouTube channels. The store is the result of a new partnership between YouTube and Topspin Media, Songkick and Amazon and iTunes, which will allow fans to purchase artist merchandise, concert tickets and meet-and-greet experiences, view concert listings and download music, respectively.
