On January 3rd, the 117th Congress officially started with the swearing in of the elected representatives. While the recently passed COVID-19 relief package was a step in the right direction, Congress must continue to pass pro-creator legislation in the immediate future, including additional financial relief for struggling creators and the HITS Act, among others.

Join us at 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. ET on Monday, February 1, to hear directly from past and present members of Congress and members of the creative community on how your advocacy can help shape the new Congress’ agenda. The event will be hosted on the Recording Academy’s Facebook page, and special guests include Reps. Linda Sánchez (D-Calif.) and Michael McCaul (R-Texas) and others.

The Recording Academy®, in concert with some of the nation’s most prominent entertainment attorneys, established the Entertainment Law Initiative® to promote discussion and debate about the most compelling legal issues facing the music industry today.

The initiative also endeavors to support future careers in entertainment law by seeking out the nation’s top law students and giving them invaluable networking and educational opportunities. For more information visit GRAMMY.com/ELI

The safety of our members and community remains our top priority, and so this year’s presentation will be broadcast online.
