Dennis Romero is a journalist who started writing about electronic dance music for the Los Angeles Times in 1991. He produced two DJ-mixed compilations, Local Underground volumes one (DJ Hiro) and two (DJ Sol) in 2002. His coverage and columns for the Times, the New Times L.A., LA CityBeat and LA Weekly have helped to introduce West Coast fans to superstar DJs and the culture of big-room clubbing. He's been quoted as a dance expert in the New York Times and Spin magazine. He blogs about the scene regularly at danceblogga.com and works by day as a news staff writer for LA Weekly.
