George Harrison en route to St. Louis, Aug. 21, 1966. After performing their rescheduled concert at Crosley Field in Cincinnati that afternoon, the Beatles rushed to Boone County Airport for a short flight to St. Louis for their scheduled concert that night at Busch Memorial Stadium. The originally scheduled Crosley Field show the night before was canceled after the opening acts had performed due to an electrical storm. Paul McCartney had Brian Epstein press the promoter to cancel the show. The show was rescheduled for the afternoon of Aug. 21, marking the only time during any of their U.S. tours that the Beatles performed two shows in one day in two separate cities

(This collection of Beatles photos from the Bob Bonis Archive have never been published nor seen by the public. Bonis, a highly skilled and passionate photographer, also served as the U.S. tour manager for both the Beatles and the Rolling Stones during the Beatles only U.S. tours in 1964, 1965 and 1966 and the Stones’ first three U.S. tours. A treasure trove of his never-before-seen Beatles and Rolling Stones images was recently discovered and will soon begin to be released.)
