In celebration of its continuing commitment to the intersection of music and social media, The Recording Academy will once again recognize the pioneers and influencers in this space at the 4th Annual Social Media Rock Stars Summit —The Music Industry Then & Now: How Digital Changed The Game on Feb. 8 at the Conga Room at L.A. Live.
Trailblazers representing progressive industry platforms will engage in a conversation regarding how musicians monetize through social, mobile and gaming platforms. The panelists are moderator Bill Werde, editorial director, Billboard; Nic Adler, owner, the Roxy Theatre and co-founder, Adler Agency; Dorothy Hui, vice president of digital marketing, Roc Nation; producer/songwriter Om'Mas Keith, current 55th GRAMMY nominee; Alexander Ljung, founder, SoundCloud; and TLC's Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, four-time GRAMMY winner.
A VIP reception will immediately follow with performances by the top three finalists of Hitlab's Emerging Artist Compeition. Preceding the panel discussion, Mike Shinoda, member of two-time GRAMMY-winning band Linkin Park, will make an announcement regarding an innovative online platform designed to provide professional mentoring and exposure for undiscovered musicians.
The Summit will be streamed live from 2–3:30 p.m. PT/5–6:30 p.m. ET at GRAMMY Live — a real-time, innovative three-day online broadcast of the VIP events leading up to Music's Biggest Night.
The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards will take place live on Sunday, Feb. 10 at Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast in high-definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on the CBS Television Network from 8–11:30 p.m. (ET/PT). The show also will be supported on radio worldwide via Dial Global, and covered online at GRAMMY.com and CBS.com, and on YouTube.
