Reggae artist Mishka recently participated in an installment of The Recording Academy's 5 Questions With … series. Following the interview, Mishka performed a brief set, including "Lonely," "Higher Heights" and "Stars Will Be Shining," the latter of which is featured on his 2010 album Talk About.

"It's a collection of songs mostly written in the two years preceding this recording," said Mishka regarding Talk About. "But some of [the songs] are much older, going back to when I first started songwriting 10 [or] 15 years ago. It's an interesting project because I really bounce around genres a lot."

Born to a Bermudian father and Nova Scotian mother, Mishka was raised at sea with his singer/songwriter sister, Heather Nova, on their parents' boat where he was introduced to music by the likes of the Beatles, Jimmy Buffett and Bob Dylan through a small cassette player. In 1996 Mishka met Creation Records head Alan McGee and was signed to the UK label the following year. In 1999 he released his self-titled debut. His sophomore effort, One Tree, was released in 2005. His third album, 2009's Above The Bones, was released on actor Matthew McConaughey's label imprint. That same year Mishka released Guy With A Guitar, which peaked at No. 4 on Billboard's Reggae Albums chart, and he was named iTunes' Best New Artist in the singer/songwriter category. Talk About, his most recent album, peaked at No. 2 on the Reggae Albums chart.
