Latin GRAMMY-winning artists Alejandro Sanz and Julieta Venegas and La Mari, lead vocalist for the flamenco-electronic band Chambao, are the latest performers announced for the 2012 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year gala celebrating Caetano Veloso on Nov. 14 in Las Vegas.
They join previously announced performers Enrique Bunbury, Natalie Cole, Lila Downs, Nelly Furtado, Maria Gadú, Juan Luis Guerra, Seu Jorge, Juanes, Natalia Lafourcade, Tania Libertad, Alexandre Pires, Mala Rodríguez, and Ivete Sangalo.
A portion of the net proceeds from the gala will benefit Veloso's chosen charity, Fundación Viva Cazuza in Brazil — a not-for-profit HIV prevention and treatment organization for children and young people — as well as The Latin Recording Academy's outreach and education programs.

The Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year celebration will precede the XIII Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards, which will be held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and will be broadcast live on the Univision Network on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central.
The 2012 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year tribute is an official Latin GRAMMY Week event. Mario Ruiz is executive producer, Greg Fera is producer. Cheche Alara is musical director (with support from Moon Moosic), Moogie Canazio is music supervisor, and Gustavo Borner is sound engineer.
