YouTube star and singer/songwriter Megan Nicole recently performed a new cover of Kings Of Leon's GRAMMY-winning hit "Use Somebody" for an installment of The Recording Academy's ReImagined series at the YouTube Space in Los Angeles. By pairing YouTube creators with a GRAMMY-winning song catalog, the ReImagined series celebrates the talent and contributions of today's YouTube creators, the creation of live music, and pays tribute to the artists and songs recognized by The Recording Academy.
"Use Somebody," featured on Kings Of Leon's 2008 album, Only By The Night, garnered the group three GRAMMY Awards: Record Of The Year, Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals. The track peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Texas native Nicole made her YouTube debut in 2009 with a cover of "Use Somebody." Since then, she has amassed more than 3.7 million subscribers and more than 751 million views. Nicole released her debut EP, Escape, in 2014, and released a new single, "Mascara," in April 2016. She also starred in the 2015 film, Summer Forever.
