The Recording Academy Chicago Chapter played host for GRAMMYs On The Road at Lollapalooza on Aug. 3–5 in Grant Park in Chicago. The Chapter conducted exclusive backstage interviews with artists performing at the festival, including M83's Anthony Gonzalez and DJ/producer Porter Robinson.

Gonzalez discussed M83's latest album, Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, his creative inspirations and his recent success, among other topics.

"The goal is always to challenge yourself, and try to make the best album you can," Gonzalez said. "It's always good to explore new horizons in music so I am trying to do that [and] to renew myself."

Originally formed in France in 2001 with Nicolas Fromageau, M83 have evolved into mainly a one-man project for Gonzalez. With assistance from other musicians such as his brother Yann, he has manned the creative directions for M83's albums such as Before The Dawn Heals Us (2005), Digital Shades Vol. 1 (2007) and Saturdays=Youth (2008). M83's most recent release, 2011's Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, is an eclectic double album Gonzalez has described as a "soundtrack to an imaginary movie." The album peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200, marking M83's highest peak position to date.

House music DJ/producer Robinson discussed the burgeoning electronic scene, his early musical inspirations and the evolution of house music, among other topics.

"For fans of dance music and for people who would have never otherwise heard of it, I think it's been fantastic," said Robinson of the electronica genre's rising popularity. "EDM events are more prevalent. There's a larger fandom to play to. I couldn't be happier.

A native of Chapel Hill, N.C., Robinson has garnered praise from GRAMMY winner Skrillex and Tiësto. In 2011 he released his debut album, Spitfire, on Skrillex's record label, OWSLA. The album contained six new songs and five remixes. His recent single, "Language," [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LILChvqUo4&feature=player_embedded] topped iTunes' Top Dance Songs chart. Robinson has performed at electronic festivals such as the Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival and Electric Zoo.
