GRAMMYs On The Road At Austin City Limits With Hudson Moore And The Antlers

The Recording Academy Texas Chapter played host for GRAMMYs On The Road At Austin City Limits Music Festival during the festival's 10th anniversary from Sept. 16–18 at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas. The Chapter conducted exclusive backstage interviews with artists including country/pop singer/songwriter Hudson Moore and indie alternative/pop group the Antlers.

Moore discussed social media and when he began composing his own music.

"It started when I was about 16," said Moore. "I got some recording equipment and it motivated me to compose my own stuff. I would rather hear something that I created than a replication."

Hailing from Fort Worth, Texas, Moore combines elements of alt-country, rock, soul, roots, and pop, citing musical influences such as Stevie Ray Vaughan and Keith Urban, among others. While studying at the University of Texas in 2010, Moore released his debut album, Fireworks. "I've got a vision for my career," Moore told DFW.com earlier this year. "My vision is to get my music out…to as many people as I can, as soon as I can." Moore is currently on tour with several dates scheduled in Colorado and throughout Texas.

The Antlers touring guitarist Timothy Mislock and vocalist/guitarist Peter Silberman discussed their biggest career moments and new album, Burst Apart.

"Burst Apart is lighter than our previous albums," said Silberman. "It's also the first record that's been a huge group effort," added Mislock.

Formed in Brooklyn, N.Y., the Antlers began as the solo project of Silberman, who released several self-made recordings in the late 2000's, including Uprooted, The February Tape and In The Attic Of The Universe. The band grew to include multi-instrumentalist Darby Cicci and drummer Michael Lerner, and in 2009 released Hospice, which made the Top 50 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart and was called "an epic but intimate album of astonishing beauty" by NPR Music's Robin Hilton. Released in May, Burst Apart features 10 songs written by Silberman and the Antlers and peaked at No. 24 on Billboard's Rock Albums chart. The Antlers are currently on tour across the United States, Europe and UK.
