Canadian singer/songwriter Michael Bernard Fitzgerald is set to release a new EP, Firecracker, on March 5. Ahead of the EP's release, GRAMMY.com has your exclusive first listen to a live version of "Follow," recorded during Fitzgerald's sold-out performance at the Grand Theatre in Calgary, Alberta, in September 2012.
"I aim to create music that connects with many people and to do this well into my 60s," said Fitzgerald. "I am myself completely on stage. It is without question my favorite thing."
Born in Calgary, Fitzgerald, known simply as MBF, draws on inspiration from the likes of Paul Simon, Bob Seger, Bruce Springsteen, and Mason Jennings, among others. In 2009 he released his first full-length album, The MBF Love LP, an 11-song set dedicated to the subject of love. Set for release on March 5, Firecracker features four songs, including the title track and "Follow." Fitzgerald is currently on a U.S. tour with Bobby Long with dates scheduled through April, including a stop at South by Southwest on March 15.
