Spanish electronic/dance DJ Danny Avila recently participated in an exclusive GRAMMY.com interview discussing his favorite city to perform in, touring with GRAMMY-nominated DJ Tiësto, his current summer tour, and the one thing he wants to give his fans, among other topics.
"Since I've started I've always played energetic music. It doesn't matter if it's tech house or electric house," said Avila. "The feeling that I want to give the crowd is energy."
At age 14 Avila left his home in Marbella, Spain, to begin working as a DJ in Madrid. While DJing at a club in Benidorm, Spain, he caught the attention of Dutch DJ/producer Fedde Le Grand, who introduced him to representatives at management company Sushi 3000. Avila subsequently signed with the company and began playing gigs at popular Spanish clubs such as the Blue Marlin Ibiza. In 2012 Avila was invited to join DJ Tiësto on a summer tour, which was followed by shows in the United States at Coachella, Electric Zoo and Electric Daisy Carnival, among other festivals.
Avila's debut single, "Breaking Your Fall," was released in 2012 and was followed by a string of tracks in 2013, including "Voltage," "Tronco" and "Poseidon." In April he teamed with fellow electronic/dance artist twoloud to release his latest single "Rock The Place."
Avila is currently in the midst of an international tour with dates scheduled through September.
