The album peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's R&B Albums chart and "Climax" climbed to No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100. Usher co-wrote 10 of the 14 tracks on the album, including "Climax," which he penned with Sean Fenton, Thomas Wesley Pentz aka Diplo and Ariel Rechtshaid.
