Artist: Halestorm

Won for: Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance

Previous wins: This marks Halestorm's first career GRAMMY win

Did you know?: Formed in Pennsylvania, Halestorm comprise siblings Lzzy Hale (lead vocals/guitar) and Arejay Hale (drums), Josh Smith (bass), and Joe Hottinger (guitar). "Love Bites (So Do I)" is featured on Halestorm's 2012 album The Strange Case Of..., which reached No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and topped Billboard's Hard Rock Albums chart. In 2011 Halestorm released ReAnimate: The Covers EP, which contains covers of songs by artists such as the Beatles, Heart, Lady Gaga, and Temple Of The Dog. The quartet released their major label self-titled debut album in 2009. Lzzy Hale is the first female to win a GRAMMY in the Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance category. Hale, who plays a signature Gibson Explorer guitar, has cited fellow GRAMMY winner Pat Benatar as her role model. Halestorm are currently in the midst of a European tour, with dates scheduled through March. The band will kick off a U.S. tour in April.
