Producer/songwriter and 54th GRAMMY Awards nominee Alex Da Kid was a recent guest for an installment of The Recording Academy's 5 Questions With … series. Held at The Academy's headquarters in Santa Monica, Calif., Alex Da Kid discussed projects on which he's currently working, the importance of recording technology and advice for aspiring artists, among other topics.
"For me, technology is everything," said Alex Da Kid. "I'm a very average guitar player at best, and a very average keyboard player at best, but I'm really good on the laptop. That's kind of my instrument."

Since signing a publishing deal with Universal Music Group in 2009, Alex Da Kid has collaborated with artists such as B.o.B, Skylar Grey, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, and Paramore's Hayley Williams. He produced Eminem's "Love The Way You Lie," featuring Rihanna, which garnered four GRAMMY nominations in 2010, including Song and Record Of The Year. In June Alex Da Kid finalized a deal bringing his label imprint, KIDinaKORNER, under the umbrella of Interscope Records. Grey is the first act signed to the label. Alex Da Kid is currently nominated for Album Of The Year for the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards for co-producing Rihanna's Loud.
