Yo-Yo Ma, Paul Simon To Receive Polar Music Prize
GRAMMY-winning cellist Yo-Yo Ma and GRAMMY-winning singer/songwriter Paul Simon are recipients of the 2012 Polar Music Prize, worth $166,000 each, and will be honored at a ceremony in Stockholm on Aug. 28. The Polar Music Prize, founded in 1989, recognizes individuals, groups and institutions for exceptional achievements in music. Past recipients include Björk, Bob Dylan, Renée Fleming, Dizzy Gillespie, Elton John, B.B. King, Paul McCartney, Joni Mitchell, and Bruce Springsteen, among others. (5/8)
