Weiss Headed To UMG
According to a report in The New York Times, Barry Weiss is expected to head up East Coast operations for Universal Music Group, reporting to CEO Lucian Grainge, and will depart from his current position as chairman and CEO of Sony Music Entertainment when his contract expires in April 2011. Comments from UMG were not disclosed. In related news, AEG's head of Europe David Campbell will exit the company, according to a Billboard.biz report. A replacement has yet to be named. (12/8)

Univision Inks Deal With ITunes
Spanish-language media company Univision has signed a deal with Apple's iTunes to make available its content at iTunes.com/Univision. Featured content will include podcasts, playlists from Univision TV personalities, music from soap opera programs and Univision.com, apps, and integrated iTunes links to purchase music and other content on Univision.com. This year's 11th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards were supported on radio via Univision Radio, the official Spanish-language radio network of the Latin GRAMMY Awards. (12/8)
