Warner Music Group For Sale?
Warner Music Group has hired investment bank Goldman Sachs to seek out potential buyers for the company, according to a report in The New York Times. While plans for the potential sale were not disclosed, the report states WMG may be looking to sell its publishing arm, Warner/Chappell Music, to make way for a potential acquisition of EMI Music. App Store Hits 10 Billion Downloads
Apple's App Store has hit 10 billion downloads since its inception in July 2008, with music-related apps among the top 10 most downloaded, according to a Billboard.biz report. Among the top paid iPhone apps were the music-related game Tap Tap Revenge 3 at No. 2, Tap Tap Revenge 2.6 at No. 5 and Tap Tap Revenge Classic at No. 8. Sreaming radio service Pandora was No. 2 among the top free iPhone apps and music identification app Shazam was No. 4. (1/24)
