UK Album Sales Down 7 Percent
Total album sales in the UK equaled 119.9 million units in 2010, down 7 percent compared to 2009, according to UK trade organization BPI. Digital album sales increased 30.6 percent to 21 million units, while sales of CDs were down 12.4 percent. Sales of singles reached a record high of 161.8 million units, up 5.9 percent from the previous year, with 98 percent of purchases coming via digital sales. (1/5)

's iPhone currently holds a 28.6 percent share of the smart phone market, followed by Research In Motion's BlackBerry (26.1 percent) and Google's Android (25.8 percent), according to new figures released by Nielsen. The Android was the top-selling smart phone in the last six months, accounting for 40.8 percent of the market share, followed by the iPhone (26.9 percent) and BlackBerry (19.25 percent). (1/5)
