Tour Revenue Down In First Half Of 2010
Gross revenue for the top 100 tours in North America was down 17 percent for the first six months of 2010, according to Pollstar. Revenue came in at just over $960 million, the lowest first-half total since 2005 when gross revenue reached $730 million. Ticket sales averaged close to 7,000 tickets per show, down 9 percent from last year. The top five touring acts through the first half of 2010 were Bon Jovi; James Taylor and Carole King; Taylor Swift; Paul McCartney; and George Strait; and Coachella was the top-grossing concert.
