GRAMMY winner Taylor Swift's Speak Now will debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this week with 1.04 million units sold, marking the largest sales week since 50 Cent's The Massacre topped the chart with sales of 1.14 million units in 2005, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Swift will also earn the second-largest sales week for a country album since Garth Brooks' Double Live in 1991, and the largest sales week for a release by a female artist since Britney Spears' Oops! Smart Phone Usage On The Rise
According to a new report from comScore, 58.7 million people age 13 and older in the United States owned smart phones during the three-month period ending in September, up 15 percent from the previous three-month period. The leading smart phone platform in the United States was Research in Motion with 37.3 percent of the market share, followed by Apple (24.3 percent), Google (14.9 percent), Microsoft (12.8 percent), and Palm (4.7 percent). The study also revealed 15.2 percent of smart phone users use their devices to listen to music, up 0.8 percent from the previous three-month period. (11/3)
