The Senate Judiciary Committee today unanimously approved the Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act, which was introduced by Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) as a measure to provide federal lawmakers with more effective tools to discontinue websites that facilitate and profit from digital theft.
