According to a Billboard.biz report, Warner Bros. Records has let go several of its top executives, including Tom Biery, SVP of promotion; Rob Gordon, SVP of marketing; Jack Isquith, SVP of digital music; and Perry Watts-Russell and Kevin Williamson, SVPs of A&R, among others.
Performers and winners from the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards led to an increase in download sales for Florence + The Machine, whose video for "Dog Days Are Over" picked up an award for Best Art Director.
What it comes down to is less about what rock is than what it isn't: it's not pop, it's not dance, it's not rap.....it's the guitar driven songs that can be found on a variety of radio stations tuned into by a variety of people.
