Los Angeles Downtown News has named the Clive Davis Theater located in the GRAMMY Museum as Best Music Venue — Small in the Best Entertainment section of its July 18 issue.
After waiting five days for the much-anticipated GRAMMY Camp field trip, with students wondering where we were going and which celebrities we'd see, it was finally here.
GRAMMY Week officially kicked off Tuesday night with the premiere of Hip-Hop: A Cultural Odyssey on Feb. 8, the GRAMMY Museum's interactive multimedia exhibit celebrating the gestation, birth, survival, and legacy of post-soul urban culture.
GRAMMY-winning songwriter/producer General Norman Johnson died Oct. 13 at his home in Atlanta.
Thursday, June 25, 2009, started like any other day at the Museum, with our curatorial team coincidentally coming in early to remove and replace the Jackson exhibit. At some point in the early afternoon, as our registrar carefully began to collect the jackets for return to their owner, we got word that the pop star had been rushed to the emergency room. Then, that he was in critical condition. Within an hour, we learned of his passing.
