Nielsen SoundScan reported sales of digital albums are up 12 percent for the year through Nov. 21, an abated growth compared to a 17 percent increase during the prior-year period, and individual track downloads are flat, up one-tenth of a percent compared to the same period.
Five-time GRAMMY winner Carrie Underwood won the Artist of the Year award at the inaugural American Country Awards on Dec. 7, and picked up Tour of the Year and Album of the Year honors for Play On.
